William at six months

Post Dinner Antics: Erik does a comedy routine in order to get his biggest fan to laugh; Anna nurtures her baby with head pats and whatever else he might "need."
Our little guy is six months old today. Amazing. William is strong, cheerful and healthy, and we are enormously thankful for that. He's rolling over confidently now and sitting up a little straighter every day. He also seems increasingly eager to join in on all the activities that the big people do and increasingly frustrated that he can't run after everyone, and even more irritated that we have the audacity to enforce naptime and bedtime. Remember when I used to brag that he was a much better sleeper than certain other big kids? Well, not this week. After recovering from his cold at the end of January, he's decided that those nice late-night sympathy visits Mom was making when he had a coughing fit shouldn't end once the cold disappears. So, there will be continued heavy coffee usage in my immediate future.  Sigh.

We're back to baby-proofing as our #1 household project. I'm thankful that this winter hasn't been too intense because it's a lot easier to get out the door without zipping every zipper and finding every hat each time. By the time it's truly warm enough to go out with light coats on, though, we will be chasing a zooming toddler, I'm sure.

So, Happy birthday, Little Man. We're so glad you're here!
